Hellnar Sea Cliffs

the Location

The Hellnar Sea Cliffs are located on the westernmost part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Hellnar was once a fishing port dating back to the 1500s. The cliffs plummet into the ocean with chiseled rock surfacing that creates amazing shadows & colours bouncing with the sunlight. The formations look like sleeping transformers ready to wake for the next Michael Bay apocalypse. I hiked along the top of the cliffs which were littered with green mossed rock contrasting through the tan grass. My eyes were mesmerized by the colours & textures, my body feeling the warmth of the perfect sun & my ears calmed by the sounds of the chirping seagulls. I could have spent the entire day here.
